Today marks the final 2 days of the UKGK.site campaign. If you haven’t been observing the campaign as a backer I’m happy to say that not only have we reached our campaign’s funding goal, we’ve also unlocked the first of our stretch goals – insuring that every physical reward tier includes the following swag.
Regardless of the final sum our campaign raises over the next week. I’m hopeful more readers will choose to get a copy of UNDEAD KUNGFU GHOST KILLER #1 for themselves as well. To make a game of it I’ve uncovered this 12 Monkeys sticker set which I published for my very first ever kickstarter campaign. It features Sun Wu Kong; The Monkey King and a coterie of other simians. This sticker sheet will be added to the reward box of the last person to support this campaign before it closes at 9:00am PST on October 31st 2025. The remaining sticker sheets will be included in the reward box of any previous backer who’s name gets mentioned by any new backer. In this way I hope to entice readers of this missive who have yet to join our campaign and reward those proponents willing to encourage others to join this project; they just have to tell me that you sent them.
As an additional reward & celebration of the success of this campaign I’ll be hosting an online zoom meet-up I’ve titled Chinese Vampires & Other Creatures I’d originally intended it to be a watch-along of some classic examples of Kung Fu Horror Comedy. Either the 1985 Horror/Comedy classic Mr. Vampire or the 1975 Hammer Horror/ Shaw Bros cross-over The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires alternately named The 7 Brothers (& 1 Sister) verses Dracula. But a there were a few technical considerations, like run-time and timing which had me reconsider. So rather than take up a whole chunk of your Halloween evening with a full viewing, I thought I could instead run through some movie trailers, share background info and offer other recommendations for movies you and yours can watch later that night or some other time when a scary (+/-) movie is called for.
